Secret Sharer is a romantic and sensuous moral story about a young man’s journey into maturity through challenging human relationships on the high seas.
If Conrad’s original story dealt with themes of duality and self-transformation, this is rather more ‘Hallmark Movie Of The Week’ territory.
Handsomely shot softcore with a superfluous plot.
Has its good moments and its questionable ones.
Beautifully photographed but a little too melodramatic and starchy for its own good, this still marks a promising debut from director Peter Fudakowski.
