A group of teens discover secret plans of a time machine, and construct one. However, things start to get out of control.
It’s mildly entertaining up to a point, with a reasonably engaging cast, but it mainly reminds you just how brilliant the Back to the Future trilogy was, and still is.
Fast-paced folly.
Sci-fi interweaved with high-school drama in an inventive way.
Some good effects but lumpy pacing and often indecipherable dialogue.
Back To The Future did it so much better 30 years ago.
Sadly, its many plot holes prevent its ideas from gaining traction and there’s an unfortunate strain of casual misogyny that’s far too redolent of producer Michael Bay’s own dismal oeuvre.
“You guys ever see the movie Looper?” Yeah, dude – it was way better.
