Tots will enjoy, but there’s no denying the pieces don’t quite click together. Best giant moggy since The Goodies, mind.
Three films in, and the Lego franchise remains hugely entertaining — though it could do with being less of a chip off the old block.
Enjoyable but formulaic animated spin-off.
In the first Lego movie, audiences were able quickly to forget that the film’s main reason for existence was to sell toys. With Ninjago, we are always aware that this is not so much a movie as a feature-length marketing and branding exercise.
The gags are tired and the animation uninspired.
