A historical drama in which a German prisoner of war falls in love with the daughter of his coach after he is recruited to play in goal for the local football team.
Kross is very good and he and Mavor make an attractive couple, so it's reasonably pleasant for about the length of a game of football, yet it goes on and on as tragedies strike and things culminate in a ludicrously melodramatic turn.
A number of omissions skew the full story, but a charming and often enlightening watch all the same.
