Find out how the King of Panto will once again create ‘a giant of a performance’ (Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman) with an all-star cast live on stage, with Allan’s own Big Band.
Joining Edinburgh’s favourite trio will be comedians Kev Orkian and Jo Caulfield, music sensation Saxation and the undisputed stars of last year’s show, the McRoberts Brothers.
What the show does remind us of is that variety is far from dead in our theatres and we must open our arms as we did years ago and embrace it. So bravo to Allan and his pals for bringing us back the variety we have missed for so long – let’s make sure it’s here to stay!
There is much to enjoy in Allan Stewart’s Big Big Variety Show at the King’s this week, but overall this mixed bag will do little to bring the genre back to life.
