Cosi Fan Tutte

In opera, the path of true love rarely runs smooth, and no more so than in this light-hearted tale of love, lust and fidelity. Director Lissa Lorenzo and designer Robbie Sinnott transport audiences to 1950s Italy, in a stylish and romantic telling of one of Mozart’s best-loved operas. Read more …

When Don Alfonso wagers that he can prove all women are fickle, Ferrando and Guglielmo willingly accept, convinced that their fiancées could never be unfaithful. Pretending they have been sent to war, the men disguise themselves and each attempts to seduce the other’s wife-to-be. The women resist at first, but a bit of Don Alfonso’s trickery is enough to spark talk of a double wedding.

Mozart’s music is at once light and witty, passionate and profound. Ensembles, including the famous ‘Soave sia il vento’ are balanced by tender and beautiful arias, creating a sublime score which perfectly reflects the bittersweet emotions of the characters.

Touring to 19 of Scotland’s smaller venues, this piano-accompanied tour showcases some of the best young singers around.
