John Fulljames's production and Tadasu Takamine's designs – a mad scattering of books are the metaphorical "resource", consumed to near-extinction by a wasteful King and Queen and their spoilt son, the Prince – are what makes it come alive to a limited extent, though never so convincingly as that brief animated point in the second act where a crisis summit focuses more angrily on the issues.
