The legend returns! Wee Stories’ award-winning smash hit Arthur, the Story of a King is touring Scotland this autumn! So, travel back in time to the Dark Ages (called that not because it was dark, but because it’s a time we don’t know much about) and join three (almost) grown men armed only with several boxes of cornflakes as they set out on a quest to discover the real Arthur, the man behind the mask.

The critical consensus

If only history lessons had been as much fun in my day…

Peter Cargill, The Stage, 12/09/2011

The hilariously gruesome puns come thick and fast, with Johnstone in his element as the numptie foil to Cannon’s eager, nicely erudite, unraveller of Arthurian facts and fictions while Trouton is the voice of reason at the piano. Together, they spin timeless adventure out of cereal packets with all the playfulness, thoughtfulness and utterly adorable enthusiasm that made Arthur such a hot ticket in 2003 (and 2005).

It’s one of those rare shows that enhances the life of everyone who sees it, with its humanity and ingenuity, its beauty, joy and sorrow.

*****Joyce McMillan, 15/09/2011

King Arthur may be a mystery, but after 90 minutes in Wee Stories’ company, we all feel as though we know him – and his colourful cast of family, friends and foes – a good deal better.

Beautifully enchanting and inspiring.

Put aside your adulthood and see it while you can.
