One Academy Productions and Perfect Pitch are proud to present the World Premiere of Closest To The Moon, a story of inspiration, ambition and self-belief.

ARE MOUNTAINEERS - THE PHILOSOPHERS AND POETS OF SPORT - BORN OR MADE?

Two years ago Richard Taylor started working with RSAMD on a piece set on the top of Mount Everest. As the piece grew it became a metaphor for human endeavour and ambition - about drive and motivation, about what might be the trigger that makes anyone attempt something so foolhardy?

The result is Closest To The Moon.

Based largely on actual reportage, both from climbers and relatives left behind, Closest To The Moon is the story of a single climber, alone at extraordinary altitude. At such heights the oxygen is reduced to a third of what we experience at sea level, causing the brain to play ever extraordinary tricks.
