Facegone

FacegoneLeslie Black Photography

Kyle wears a mask and thinks he’s a superhero. Today he’s on a mission to save the world from certain destruction but brothers Rip and Danny are on a mission too. They’ve ditched their Granny, nicked a car and are on their way to find the kid known as Facegone. Inspired by two short stories by Junot Diaz, Facegone is a play about childhood, family and fighting back.

The critical consensus

A taut, beautifully-acted tribute both to the power of the imagination.

Directed by Sacha Kyle, the mainly young cast turn in fine performances in a production that is technically impressive in its use of comic book sound cues. It's a moving portrait of troubled adolescents doing their best to find their identity in a world "where bad things just happen sometimes".
