Behind a window, in a cosy room, a group of friends gather for a meal. The lamps are on, everyone is happy. Talk begins and stories unfold around the table. There is laughing, flirting, joking, eating and dancing. But sadness soon threads its way through the occasion, marked by the appearance of a mysterious stranger outside the window.
Beginning its UK tour at Tramway, Glasgow before touring to Eden Court in Inverness, Aberystwyth Arts Centre in Wales and Unity Theatre in Liverpool, Interiors will then embark on a European tour performing at Theatre de la Ville in Paris (France) in November 2010, Teatro Storchi in Modena (Italy) and Teatro Eliseo in Rome (Italy) in May 2011.
Interiors, which won the awards for Best Production, Best Ensemble and Best Director, at the Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland in 2009, is a collaboration with Napoli Teatro Festival Italia and features a multi-national cast.
Interiors was originally a co-production with Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, Teatro Stabile di Napoli and Traverse Theatre in association with Tron Theatre and Lyric Hammersmith. It was developed at the National Theatre Studio, London.
