Written in 1933, Private Lives is arguably one of Noël Coward's finest plays. Coward's sparkling wit is used to great effect in this observation on modern romance.
The end result is a well-staged and well-played classy revival. As Elyot flippantly says to Amanda at one point, "We're figures of fun." And fun is exactly what this engaging production delivers in spades.
A real triumph, a fine, thoughtful and penetrating production of one of the most familiar plays in the canon.
