With dazzling staging and highly imaginative costumes, masks and puppets, The Lion King uses breathtaking theatrical magic to tell the story of Simba’s epic journey to reclaim his kingdom.
The Lion King is recommended for a general audience. As an advisory to adults who might bring young people, Disney recommends The Lion King for ages 6 and up. Children under the age of 3 will not be admitted into the theatre. All persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

The Lion King could have ended up a grisly franchise – instead, in the capable hands of all involved, it’s looking as fresh as ever.
The Lion King features some of Disney's most iconic characters and music, this stage show invites all of those elements to be shown to a whole new audience that does the movie proud.
This is without doubt the most lavish show to hit the Playhouse ever and it will be a mighty challenge to follow this in 2014.
A show which is payback for parents who have had to sit through countless re-watches of the DVD. A show which has its own spectacular story to tell. And one which will have youngsters in awe.
The Lion King reminded me that, with all the theatrical tools in the world at your disposal, you can still end up saying almost nothing.
A distinctly mixed bag.
The use of the whole venue's space was a key innovation that greatly contributes to the audience being part of a wonderful theatrical experience.
A standing ovation was no less than this production of The Lion King, on its first UK tour, deserved; but the roars of approval had started at the very beginning, when a procession of colourful puppet animals, including a near life-sized elephant, made its elegant way down the aisles and onto the stage.
It is when everybody comes together as an ensemble that The Lion King really flies. The antelope canter, the lionesses leap, the birds flutter and an entire animal kingdom bursts in full voice before our eyes.
Almost as stunning on stage today as it was thrilling in the cinema 20 years ago.
