Sadly, for Michael it’s going to be a more unforgettable evening than he’d have liked. The audience and indeed Michael himself are in for a shock. Not only are his bogus clairvoyancy methods about to be exposed, his team of researchers and audience plants uncovered, he’s also due to be contacted by an old and very genuine spirit from the Other Side. And life is never going to be the same again.
Although Charlie Ross, as Cane, demonstrates a minor talent for impressions of the famous dead, he seems a shade uneasy with the pressures of solo performance; so that much of the show seems like a weak stand-up comedy set delivered by a nervous beginner, rather than a confident and successful clairvoyant show, gradually crumbling under the pressure of its own contradictions.
