Brave explorers wanted to join two friendly (but slightly naughty) Polar Bears on the adventure of a lifetime. Where are they going? What will they get up to next? And have they got enough sandwiches (Polar Bears love sandwiches, everyone knows that)?
With music, comedy and quite a lot of cheekiness, The Polar Bears Go Wild is the perfect festive treat for young audiences. Remember to keep hold of your ice cream - Polar Bears are always hungry!
MacAskill and Manson make loveable characters, although there will always be a few bawling walkouts when human-sized bears are involved. But, really, this is another triumph for Fish and Game.
Scotland has a children’s theatre sector that is the envy of the world. If The Polar Bears Go Wild is anything to go by, it’s easy to see why. Definitely one to put on your Christmas wish list if you haven’t already done so.
Meeting the sensory demands of the very young, while stimulating four and five-year-olds is perhaps a bridge too far for anyone.
The show is perhaps a little too gentle in its pacing for children at the upper end of the recommended age range, but the daft humour is infectious and there are more than enough interactive elements to keep younger kids engaged, notably an invitation to come up onstage and play with the foil space blankets that have been doubling as mountains - an invitation that is enthusastically received by kids of all ages.
Delightful entertainment and a lovely piece of Christmas magic for the wee ones – and not so wee ones!
