Scenes Unseen

New works from Ayckbourn, Fugard, Donleavy and Marber. Read more …

New Inck Theatre, in association with the Tron Theatre, has unearthed work from world-renowned playwrights which has never been seen before.  These hidden gems sit side-by-side with work from emergent Scottish playwrights in an eclectic evening of exciting new theatre.

Scenes Unseen sees celebrated playwrights, Alan Ayckbourn, Athol Fugard, J.P Donleavy and Patrick Marber contrasted with carefully selected pieces from new writers Andrew Stott, Julie Tsang, Stef Smith and Lynsey Murdoch.

The critical consensus

Scenes Unseen, an eclectic mix of hitherto unperformed theatrical vignettes by famous dramatists from around the world and emergent Scottish writers, is, as one might expect, a wildly varied rollercoaster ride.

Andy Arnold’s strange, interesting bill of eight short plays, at the Tron, seems to be set in the junk heap where most of our traditional ideas about masculinity and male-female relations have now come to rest.
