Shang-a-Lang

Shang-a-Lang

Three forty-something Scottish women decide to relive their youth by going to a 70s revival weekend in Butlins, where the Bay City Rollers are playing. Our three girls were Rollerettes back in the day but can you ever recapture your youth, and if you could, would you really want to? Read more …

Join our three heroines; sex mad and gallus Lauren, dissatisfied and scunnnered Jackie and sad-sack and slightly desperate Pauline.

Take a trip back in time to the decade where the fashion was memorable and the music unforgettable.

Will Lauren stay sober, will Jackie stay married and will Pauline ever find her own Woody?

The critical consensus

Mamma Mia it’s not, but if you (and your sisters / best female buddies) have reached that point in your life, like Pauline, where you start to hanker after the intoxicating smells of perfume, hair product, and white wine; where you long to remember the good times and sing and dance along – well, Shang-a-Lang is the one for you.

The show has real energy and warmth, though, and a handful of joyously wild performances.
