Generally considered one of the greatest Scottish novels of all time, Lewis Grassic Gibbon's Sunset Song follows the life of Chris Guthrie, a young woman living in a small farm on the Howe of the Mearns. Adapted for the stage by Alastair Cording, it conjures up a picture of rural life in Scotland in the early part of the 20th century, and of the impact of the First World War on the young men who went to war and on the families left behind.
All in all, it is an outstanding production.
A vibrant and moving production.
