We will have you gazing in wonder at The Snow Queen, laughing uncontrollably at the wisecracking ‘Duggie the Dug MacDouglas’ and cheering on our hero Gerda as she journeys through the North Pole in search of her best friend, Kai.
Adapted from the original tale by Hans Christian Andersen, this is one of Scotland’s best loved Christmas shows.
This is an utterly absorbing tale eloquently and magically told. It is genuinely uplifting and will leave even the coldest of hearts warmed. Captivating, intelligent, gripping, entertaining, and absolutely joyous. Miss it at your peril.
A true delight.
With Samantha Foley and Julie Brown acting up a storm as Gerda and the Snow Queen...the main lines of the story are in safe hands; and in terms of cheerful, accessible Christmas storytelling for audience of young children, this latest Cumbernauld show delivers the goods, in style.
The production’s faithful following of Andersen’s narrative, mixed with humorous additions of its own, is a winning combination. In fact, it’s almost too successful; so responsive was Friday morning’s primary school audience to the encouragement of the fine, five-strong cast, that I feared the actors voices would never be heard.
