Featuring two terrific hours of the greatest songs ever written, including That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, Johnny B. Goode, Raining In My Heart, Everyday, Shout and many many more, this show is just Peggy Sue-perb!
Perhaps the first half does outweigh the second after all.
A great night out.
Like every show it has its problems, but it is almost guaranteed you’ll be dancing out of your seat by the end of the night.
It would be lazy to dismiss this as a glorified tribute concert. You just can’t get away from the fact that, besides all the fun, Buddy is an at times poignant show that delights an audience who will always holler for more.
It is hard to separate the enthusiasm this kind of show engenders through its strong fan-based audience and see it as anything other than what it is - good, old-fashioned entertainment.
Holly’s brand of music and calamitous trajectory are what count and are captured here like something caught in amber – all disbelief suspended.
The heart of the show lies in the music, the 24 terrific songs delivered with explosive energy and skill by an all-singing, all-dancing, all-instrument-playing cast of eight.
