It ain’t rocket science, but if it’s an evening of thrills and chills and great music from a first rate cast who give their all your looking for, then this can’t come more highly recommended.
The Bodyguard the Musical starts with a bang and impresses all the way to the glittering finale.
It’s the songs, though, that really tell the story of The Bodyguard; and from the great anthem I Will Always Love You to the final version of I Wanna Dance With Somebody, they’re presented here with a level of sheer glitz and pzazz that fairly takes the breath away.
Delivers compelling action alongside powerful female vocals.
Big, thrilling and mercilessly honed, the changes in plot and emphasis might provide a bit of a disappointment for the film’s fans, but for those who want a great night out, this is where it is at.
Although far from the visual spectacle one may expect, musical numbers are performed well and despite a thin plot, the production is entertaining.
It’s a fun night nostalgic night out, especially appealing to the naughty forties plus generation.
The capacity Playhouse audience was clearly dazzled by the show and classy performances giving the company a united standing ovation from the stalls to the upper circle.
