Howard Barker‘s subversive re-telling of the Old Testament tale of Lot and his wife and the fall of Sodom. Directed by Debbie Hannan. Read more …
Controversial and challenging, British playwright Barker is a champion of radical theatre.
In Lot and His God, Barker applies his characteristic style to a fearless and ruthless subversion of the ancient Old Testament tale of Lot, his faithless wife and the annihilation of the sinful city of Sodom.
As delivered by Hannan's cast in the Citz's stripped back Circle Studio space, a near declamatory relishing of Barker's poetry makes for an electric set of power games to witness.
