It is a wonderfully staged musical that works a treat.
This might just be the best advert for community, arts education and international socialism ever.
Director Stephen Daldry’s production has won awards aplenty and it’s set to win even more hearts in its capital stay.
The show’s slight self-indulgence, towards the end, is a small price to pay for its huge political and emotional passion, and for the brilliance with which it reflects the shift in ideas about masculinity that accompanied the end of 
Britain’s great age of heavy industry.
At the end of the show the cast rightly lap up their standing ovation, every one of them deserving of the rapturous applause.
The dialogue is peppered throughout with some pretty strong language which is all normal and natural within the contest of the show but may concern those with young children. Otherwise it’s an opportunity for a great family night out.
