Beauty and the Beast--Beacon, Greenock

A beauty of a panto … a beast of a show!

Still Game stars Mark Cox and Jane McCarry take centre stage for this year’s blockbuster of a panto at Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock - Beauty and the Beast. Written by Scotland’s panto king Alan McHugh. Read more …

Joining them on stage is Scottish favourite Jimmy Chisholm as Dame Betty, Lee Samuel as Boabby, David Rankine as Hunter with Beauty being played by Brooke Allen and the Beast played by Liam Mulvey.

A handsome prince is cursed by an evil fairy to live as a hideous beast. The only way to lift the curse is for him to find true love - but who could love a beast? Will our Beauty see beyond appearances and fall in love with the Beast to overcome the ter-rible curse?

With spectacular scenery, wonderful costumes, incredible special effects and bags of traditional pantomime slapstick fun, Beauty and the Beast is sure to be a delight for all the family to enjoy.

The critical consensus

Beauty and the Beast exceeded all of my expectations. The sets are stunning, cast are terrific and Alan McHugh's script is wonderful. I can't recommend this pantomime enough!
