War Horse is an unforgettable theatrical event which takes audiences on an extraordinary journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France.
Heartbreakingly brilliant.
Is involving, emotional, visually spectacular and every bit as good as you have probably heard.
Forget Spielberg’s film version. There is more flesh, blood, muscle and guts on show here than any wide-screen rendition can muster. All of which suggests that War Horse is unlikely to be put out to grass for some time yet.
War Horse is an incredibly beautiful story and the staging is outstanding. I defy anybody to not be moved by the relationship between Albert and Joey and completely captivated by this masterpiece!
It is only in the closing scene that the emotions are actually stirred. But, boy, what a spectacle.
This evening is every expectation excelled.
In this, the 100th anniversary year of the end of the First World War, there could not be a more fitting time to see Morpurgo’s novel realised on stage in this astounding production.
Eye-catching puppetry covers for run-of-the-mill storyline in this theatrical phenomenon.
There are supreme moments of visual splendour, with a full arsenal of theatrical tools being deployed to create some astonishing moments of drama.
Outstanding.
Disappointingly lacklustre touring puppetry production.
