Filled with the right balance of humour and scares, The Firebird is a perfect portrayal of how honesty, courage and love can result in the noblest of actions.
If, at times, the darkness of it all – the heartless aspects of the story, the overcast look of the production – feels overly grim, the vivid performances from a busy cast keep this Firebird nicely on the wing.
There are some spectacular moments and decent performances.
