Facing all the usual struggles of growing up: our unlikely hero Paul, struggles for understanding from his father and mother, struggles to work out just how to get a girlfriend, and struggles to save a goal in football.
But perhaps the biggest struggle he secretly faces is with his own emotions as his sense of reality seems to be shifting around him. Very soon, what’s real and what’s not real, start to merge into one in an intense confusion of belief and identity.
Thrillingly theatrical, by turns, this striking play is a remarkably magical, memorably comic and intimately tender story. All told by Scotland’s most admired popular playwright, Douglas Maxwell.
