Everything Between Us is set in Stormont’s Parliament Buildings on the first day of a newly formed Truth and Reconciliation Commission for Northern Ireland. Read more …
Sandra Richardson is preparing to take her seat on the Commission when her long-lost sister Teeni explodes into the chamber and assaults the South African chairwoman. To find out if this is a terrorist plot or just her sister’s way of announcing her return to Belfast, Sandra bundles Teeni into a disused room hidden along the corridors of power. With the world’s media waiting to invade, Sandra and Teeni must learn very quickly how to talk to each other.
A controversial dark comedy about secrets, lies and reconciliation.
Note: The play contains extremely strong language throughout.
Excellent performances, superb jokes ... a thrilling, hugely amibitious play.
For its courage in exploring some of the dark forces that oppose the peace process, though, this play deserves all the praise it has won; and the two actresses – Lamont and Tara Lynne O'Neill – almost literally give it hell, for 70 compelling minutes.
The bucket-load of one-liners Ireland unleashes from Teeni’s mouth are a deadly, litany of filth-lined truisms spewed out without any emotional filter to help soften the blow.
