Surge

Surge

Conflux's first festival of street arts, physical theatre and circus performance

From 19th-25th July 2010 Conflux will be presenting SURGE, Scotland’s festival of Physical Performance (incorporating street arts, physical theatre and circus). It’s in Glasgow - on the stage, on the streets, on the water and even in the air... While our programme of indoor events SURGE at Home is being presented at CONFLUX’s base, The Arches, we have a wealth of outdoor events too. If you like your performances al fresco then don’t miss SURGE at The Merchant City Festival. Conflux is a project developing a voice for Scottish artists working in the field of Physical Performance (incorporating street arts, physical theatre and circus). Conflux creates opportunities for the development of existing professionals as well as emergent artists. These professional and emergent artists will be showcased at Conflux festivals in 2010 and 2012 with eyes firmly fixed on further chances afforded by the Commonwealth Games in 2014. For a listing of all event locations and times, check the Conflux or Arches website.

More information on this production is available at www.conflux.co.uk.

The critical consensus

There's a sense of something being reborn around the Conflux Project.

A nifty joining together of two programming strands that shared an enthusiasm for putting live performances directly in the way of the public eye.
