Nic Green: Trilogy

Nic Green: Trilogy

The acclaimed celebration of modern-day feminism returns for the IETM Festival

If you missed it first time round, this is your chance to see all three parts of the award-winning Trilogy in the place it was conceived: the Arches, Glasgow. Read more …

Brimming with raw energy, Trilogy is a celebratory venture into modern-day feminism, examining and interrogating the joys and complexities of being a young woman today, whilst driving steadfast into the future. Designed to challenge, inspire and make way for positive change, Nic Green and her company use cultural artefacts such as the feminist debate of 1979 documentary Town Bloody Hall as the starting point for a reactionary, inspirational message which counters the detrimental faux-feminism currently dished out by the media to the next generation of women.

After causing a stir at last year's Edinburgh Fringe, Nic Green and her company have since performed (and sold out) shows at BAC, the Barbican and Absolut Fringe in Dublin, and visiting the Belfast Festival 2010 on 22-24 October. Returning to Glasgow as part of the IETM biannual plenary 2010, this is the first and last time that Trilogy will be performed in its entirety at its spiritual home.

Trilogy has been supported and developed by the Arches, BAC, Made In Scotland, Scottish Arts Council and Barbican Bite 10, and was the winner of a Herald Angel award at the Edinburgh Fringe 2009.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Part One ends with a high energy, ensemble naked dance featuring female volunteers which celebrates the female body in a different way: for its functionality. read the Call Out For Women here to see what's involved and be inspired.
