A thought provoking production that delves deep into ideas about masculinity and fighting your corner, as well as the fine line between theatre and sport, Drummond has conjured up a show to warm the heart of anyone who’s ever been bullied, bought a figurine of WWF star Bret Hart, or mourned the passing of Big Daddy.
Doesn't quite add up to a satisfying whole ... but the rope burns are real.
At the heart of Wrestling there remains a moving piece about growing up, and with more development, it would be wonderful to see this fully merge with the elemental thrill of wrestling.
The fall-out from Drummond’s obsession with wrestling is more than skin-deep.
Wrestling @ The Arches
We need to see more performances of Rob Drummond: Wrestling soon, if only because every teenage boy in Scotland needs to experience it, and to discuss what it means.
Wrestling is a funny and touching play that will appeal to the sport's fans and sceptics alike.
