One to Watch: Sally Dige

Lorna Irvine looks at an singer with 'the most exquisite voice'.

Canadian artist Sally Dige has the most exquisite voice, reminiscent of Dead Can Dance's Lisa Gerrard or Siouxsie Sioux--an imperious, icy timbre, with cut-glass vowels.

There's more than a nod to the 80s in her music--stylistically she's somewhere between Propaganda's chilling Euro synth and Madonna's mid-era pop provocation.

And it works wonderfully, rendering her a little out of place with contemporary solo women. Debut album Hard To Please, which is due out on May 11th on Night School Records, should be impressive if lead single ‘Losing You’ is anything to go by.
